Abstract
All human being cannot exist by oneself. That is all human being depend on intimate attachment for their survial. Physical and psychological powers are prerequisites for one's survival and these powers serve important functions in interpersonal
relationship. There are two kinds of powers. One is positive power which helps one survive effectively. The other one is negative power which disturbs one's effective survival. In this paper the author reviewed the precept of modest behavior
which
is
described in "Bible" and oriental classical books such as "The Analects of Confuicius" and "Tao Te Ching" etc. and tried to integrate this precept with the importance in everyday life. Externally, the modest man lowers himself in relation with
others,
but internally, the modest attitude has great power in relation with others and helps one with effective survival.
